Possible fix solutions for Facebook likes 'no data available' issue

Facebook users have been facing another glitch, with the Like button displaying a “no data available” message. So, are there any solutions and what could’ve caused the issue?

#Facebookdown is trending once again on Twitter. Don’t worry, it’s not another complete outage of the platform, just a minor glitch. Users have been greeted by an error message after clicking on the Like button. It’s not the end of the world, but it is frustrating.

What’s going on with Facebook likes?

Despite the complaints, Facebook doesn’t appear to have addressed the global problem. Users are unable to view who liked or reacted to their posts. After selecting the Like button, they’re met by a message reading: “No data available.”

They are able the see the number of responses, just not who exactly. Since a message is displayed, we doubt it’s a move to reinforce privacy.

It seems the glitch began occurring on Friday (27 May 2022).

One confused Facebook user tweeted:

As it’s a widespread issue, we suspect it’s a bug within the app. Like most glitches, the best thing to do is wait for Facebook to fix the problem. They normally don’t last for more than 24 hours.

If you’re dying to see who viewed your posts, though, here are some fixes that could work, according to Howtotipsandtricks.

  • Ensure your Facebook app is updated to the latest version
  • Use Facebook web instead of the mobile app

What’s with Facebook? Names of people who Like no longer showing. Just shows numbers of Likes. Or says No data available

Just yesterday, Instagram users were reporting their direct messages had turned into bizarre black boxes. The platform didn’t address the issue either:

Someone help why am I seeing this in my friend and i’s Instagram DMs?! And when I type and send a new message it’s still black

Thankfully, though, fans managed to find a tried-and-true solution – switch your theme into dark mode to view the message.
