Jason Thompson Death; Man Found Dead In College’s Vent Was Hiding—But Got Stuck Upside Down
According to the authorities, the man who was discovered dead inside the air vents of a community college in Michigan a month ago had told his family that he was attempting to flee from the force of law enforcement.
Jason Thompson, who was 36 years old and had been missing since November 1st, reportedly went onto the roof of Macomb Community College sometime over the weekend and sneaked into the ventilation system without being discovered. He then proceeded to make his way deeper into the system before becoming trapped upside down.
According to the authorities, Thompson’s phone had a low amount of juice stored in it when he first entered the vents, and it ran out of power completely not long after that. Asphyxiation by accident was ultimately the cause of his death.
“There is no way to go back once you have entered the building. According to statements made by Macomb College Police Chief William Leavens during a press conference on Thursday, “There is no way to turn around, and there is a point where he has traversed enough of its space, and the way that it moves, I don’t think you could back up.”
On Thursday, the authorities disclosed that Thompson was the subject of various warrants that were now outstanding against him; however, there was no evidence that the police were actively hunting for him.
After Thompson’s body started emitting a foul odor, it was only then that it was found.
“There are indications in the investigation through family that he suffered some mental health concerns and issues,” said Leavens. “The investigation is being conducted through family.”
As stated in a GoFundMe campaign that was initiated by Thompson’s cousin, Carissa, Thompson is the father of two children, namely Killian and Kiara.
According to what Carissa posted on the page, “Jason was loved by many people, and his family has been through a lot over the past month while he has been missing as a result of his disappearance.” It is most important to note that he was adored by his family and friends, and he will be missed by all of them. He was a son, brother, uncle, and cousin.
