Jenny Appleford has been open about her cancer journey online

In 2021, Appleford was diagnosed with lung cancer despite being a non-smoker. In July, she was told she had less than a year to live.

She shared a heartbreaking live-stream yesterday

On Sunday, Appleford and husband Kyle started a live stream on her YouTube channel simply titled “I’m dying.”

The stream brought sad news to followers directly from the hospital bed. “I’m actually dying right now,” she told the camera. “I’m so scared. I don’t know what to do.”

In the video, Kyle explained that Jenny’s breathing had “labored” and she was put on a high-flowing oxygen machine, which is only able to run at a hospital. Due to this, Appleford is unable to return home as she wanted.

A scan showed that Appleford’s left lung is now mainly tumor and the doctors said she may have days left.

In an emotional moment, Appleford asked her followers to take care of her family and notified them that her husband is able to one day fall in love again and marry. “I want him to be happy, so let him be happy,” she asked.

“I hope I’m happy. I think I’ll be happy. I’ll be an angel sparkling in the sky. I’ll be sparking over you guys,” she added.

Keeping humor, Appleford jokingly compared her breathing tube to Mario, but later added that despite “trying to make this a funny thing with jokes” she was really “heartbroken.” “I am devastated,” she spoke honestly.

Jenny Apple GoFundMe raises huge sum

Initially, the GoFundMe page set up to help Jenny had a target of $100,000. But fans of the influencer have already shattered that with over $156,000 in donations to date.

It is testament to the strength of feeling for the YouTube star that so many people (over 2,000 and counting) have donated their own money to help pay for treatment and support.

It remains to be seen how much money will ultimately be raised. But the messages on the page spread love and hope at this incredibly difficult time.
