Normally all you need to do in order to login to your router is simply head to in your browser, and enter in the username and password to get into the settings.

Resetting the Password for Your Verizon Router

Each of the Verizon routers will have a Reset button on the back side somewhere, usually with a red circle around it. To reset the router to factory defaults, press this button (using a pen or something similar), and hold it down until all the lights on the router blink and turn off, and then back on—it’ll take somewhere between 10-30 seconds.

If it doesn’t work, then try it again.

And the Default Password Is…

Once you’ve reset the password to the default, it’s going to be set to one of the following—or it might already be set to one of these, so before you reset the router, you should try each of these.

• “Password” — once you reset the password on most of the routers, it should be set to simply password.
• “admin” — sometimes the Verizon tech will change the password to admin, though they are supposed to change it to the serial number.
• Serial Number — each router has a serial number on the sticker on the back, and often the password has been changed to match this number.
• Blank — and we’re not referring to typing Blank into the password field—on one of the routers the password field should just be ignored, by default, at least.

If you’re struggling to log in to your Verizon FIOS router, follow the set of instructions given below to reset the password to the factory defaults.

Logging Into Your Router

Open on your browser. and enter the username and password to get into the settings.

Resetting Verizon Router’s Password

Every Verizon router has a Reset button on the back of it (with a red circle around it). Press the reset button (using a sharp object like a pen) to reset the router to factory defaults. Hold it down until all the lights on the router blink and turn off, and then back on. This process will take around 10-30 seconds.

The default password will be one of the following, so try these.

• “Password”
• “admin” – the password may be changed to admin. However, it is supposed to be changed to the serial number.

Find and locate your default gateway IP Address. To do this, Hold the Windows Key and Press R. Type ncpa.cpl and Click OK. Identify, how you’re connected to the router (wired or wireless). If wireless, then right-click the Wireless Network Connection and Choose Status -> Details. And if Wired, then repeat the same for Wired.

Note down your Default Gateway IP Address from the IPv4 Default Gateway Field.

Now, type this IP Address in your browser’s address bar and login with the default username and password; if you don’t know what it is, then give a quick call to a Verizon Tech so they can tell this to you over the phone.

You can get the same information from manuals and the internet, but I do not want you to spend time looking for something you can quickly get from Verizon. A small “spell mistake” is an indication that you are being hacked. (This is a very common hacking method. I still believe that her spam has nothing in common with your slow internet.)
