For years, Android owners have been able to hide apps from their home screens. Now, as long as you’re running iOS 14 or newer, iPhone owners can remove and hide apps as well as pages from the home screen and put things in the App Library.
The App Library is Apple’s version of the app drawer. It’s available on the last page of the home screen. Here, you’ll find all of your installed apps sorted in various categories. You can also see a list of all apps from the Search field.
Now that all apps are available in the App Library, it brings up the question. Why should you keep the same rarely-used apps on the home screen as well? You can do this in two ways. You can either remove particular apps from your home screen (they’ll still show up in Spotlight Search and the App Library), or you can remove entire pages and hide all apps from that page in an instant.
Remove or Hide Apps from Your iPhone’s Home Screen
First, let’s see how you can remove or hide individual apps from your iPhone’s home screen (without deleting them). Read our guide on deleting apps on iPhone or iPad if that’s what you’d wish to accomplish.
To do this, tap and hold an app that you want to remove. From the options menu, choose the “Remove App” option.
In the delete app menu, you’ll see a new option. Here, choose the “Remove From Home Screen” option.
The app will instantly disappear from your iPhone’s home screen. You can go to the App Library (by swiping to the right-most page) and search for it to launch the app.
Remove or Hide Pages from Your iPhone’s Home Screen
If you’re like us, you probably have a couple of pages filled with apps that you almost never visit. If you’re used to launching apps from Spotlight Search, you might want to remove all the pages between your first page and the App Library.
To do this, tap and hold in an empty part of your iPhone’s home screen to enter editing mode. Now, tap the Page Dots found above the dock at the bottom of the device’s display.
This will bring up a new UI that lists all of the pages in a grid. Tap the checkmark below a page to remove it. You can do this for as many pages as you want (except for the first page).
You can come back here at any time to re-enable a page. Once you’re done editing, tap the “Done” button.
Once you go back to the home screen, you’ll see that the page dots at the bottom of the screen have reduced in number. You can now quickly swipe to the App Library page.
Apple just released iOS 14 a few hours ago and the wait was really excruciating. The platform brings a number of additions to the table. One of the major and forward-facing addition is removing entire app pages from the Home screen. If you’re not familiar with the technique, here’s how to remove App Pages from the iOS 14 Home screen.
Reduce Clutter on Home Screen, Here’s How to Remove App Pages on iOS 14
This will clear the clutter and only show more relevant apps. Don’t worry, no app will be deleted, and instead, everything will be sorted in the new App Library. This will give your iPhone a cleaner look and feel. All apps will be neatly stacked in the App Library so you can just access it from there Now, let’s get down to remove app pages from iOS 14’s Home screen.
1. The first thing that you have to do is long-press anywhere on the Home screen and enter the jiggly mode.
2. Now, tap on the Page Indicator icon on the bottom.
3. On the Edit Page interface, Uncheck the App pages that you want to remove in order to reduce clutter.
4. Tap in Done and you’re good to go.
That’s all there is to remove App Pages on iOS 14’s Home screen. Once you’re done with the process, the pages that you remove will not appear on the Home screen. Do not be alarmed, your apps have not been deleted but simply moved to the App Library. To access App Library, simply swipe from right to left on the final page. You will see all of your apps are sorted out in various categories.
You can always bring back the removed app pages as well. Simply follow the same process again and check the pages which you want to appear on the Home screen and tap on Done. You can check out our iOS 14 launch post for more details on the platform.
That’s all there is to it. The process to remove app pages is fairly simple and gives your Home screen a more profound and neat look. Do try it out for yourself and let us know how you liked it.

After years of using the iPhone or iPad, it’s easy to end up with way too many home screen pages. Moving dozens of apps takes a lot of time. Instead, delete entire home screen pages, and start your layout fresh!
Starting in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, you can delete entire home screen pages (previously, you could only hide them). If you want to start using the App Library, this is the quickest way to get rid of all but the first home screen page without individually deleting apps.
How to Delete Home Screen Pages
To get started, tap and hold an empty part of your iPhone or iPad home screen. Then, select the Pages (pill with dots in it) button from the bottom of the screen.
You will now see all the home screen pages laid out. First, tap the Checkmark button below the page that you want to delete. This will hide the page.
Then, tap the small Minus icon in the top-left corner of the page.
In the popup, tap the “Remove” button to confirm.
The home screen, along with all the apps on the page, will disappear. Don’t worry, the apps won’t be deleted; they’ll be available in the App Library. Repeat this process for all the home screens that you want to remove. You can remove all but one home screen page.
Now, tap the “Done” button at the top to exit the home screen pages view. Tap the “Done” button once again to save the home screen layout (you can also swipe up from the Home bar, or press the Home button).
And that’s it, your clean and lean home screen setup is ready. Now, it’s time to give it an aesthetic with some custom app icons. If you want, you can always bring back app icons from the App Library.
- You can delete apps from your iPhone on the Home Screen, which will erase any saved data.
- You can also offload an app to save its data and settings if you end up re-installing it.
- If you have iOS 14 or later, you can also hide apps from your Home Screen and still access them through the App Library.
If you’ve often found yourself scrolling through pages and pages of apps you never use, it may be time to delete, hide, or offload apps on your iPhone.
You can delete or uninstall an app on any version of iOS. With iOS 14, there’s an additional option to hide an app from your Home Screen while keeping it in your App Library.
You can also offload an app – which deletes the app but retains its data – on iOS 11 or later.
Here’s how to do it all.
How to delete apps on an iPhone
If you’re not sure what version of iOS you have, open the Settings app, tap “General,” and then tap “About.” Your current iOS version will be listed next to “Software Version.”
In iOS 14
- Find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
- In the pop-up menu, select “Remove App.”
Then select “Delete App” in the next pop-up and tap “Delete” again.
In iOS 13
- On your Home Screen, find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
- In the menu that appears, tap “Rearrange Apps.”
- All your apps will start jiggling, and small “X” icons will appear at the top of all the apps that you can delete.
- Tap the “X” on any app you want to delete.
- A menu will open, asking you to confirm that you want to delete it. Tap “Delete” to delete the app.
In iOS 12 and earlier
- On your Home Screen, press and firmly hold the icon of the app you want to delete. It may take one or two seconds, but wait for all the icons on your screen to begin jiggling and little “X” marks to appear at the top of each one.
- Tap the “X” that appears at the top-left corner of the app you want to delete.
- In the pop-up, tap “Delete.” Otherwise, click “Cancel” and repeat the process with the correct app.
If you accidentally delete an app, you’ll need to re-download the app from the App Store – there’s no “undo” button for app deletion.
But if you want to remove an app and still retain its data, you should instead try hiding the app from your Home Screen, or offloading the app, described below.
How to hide apps on an iPhone with iOS 14
The option to hide apps from your Home Screen and keep them in your App Library is only available on iOS 14 and later.
- Find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
- In the pop-up, select “Remove App.”
Then select “Remove from Home Screen.” The app will now be hidden from your Home Screen and moved to your App Library.
To access your App Library, swipe to the right-most page of your Home Screen. You can use the search bar at the top to find the app, or scroll through the categories.
How to offload an app on an iPhone
Instead of fully deleting an app and all the data it carries, you can offload an app. Offloading removes the app from your iPhone but archives its data, allowing you to pick up where you left off when you reinstall the app.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap the “General” tab.
Tap “iPhone Storage.”
On the iPhone Storage page, you can also choose to let your iPhone automatically offload unused apps when it’s low on storage. Tap “Enable” beside “Offload Unused Apps.”

If you’re lost in a sea of icons and can’t find the app you want, you may have too many pages of apps on your Home Screen. Here’s how to switch the pages around and get rid of extra ones, in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.
The sheer number of apps available can be bewildering, with apps available in the App Store for practically any task. Our reliance on apps can lead to there being too many on your iPhone or iPad.
Or rather, too many on the screen to be effective to search through in a reasonable timeframe.
Apple does have accommodations to make it easier to manage the plethora of apps on a device, including moving apps around and sorting them into folders. The addition of the App Library in iOS 14 added an extra option of leaving apps off the Home Screen entirely, freeing up space for widgets and other apps to be visible.
Even so, a user could find that they have dozens, or even hundreds, of app icons on their iPhone’s Home Screen at times. This is especially so for anyone setting up an iPhone or iPad for the first time and has downloaded many apps that they intend to use in the future.
As you’re curating what apps are shown on the Home Screen, held in folders, or booted off to the App Library, there’s another concept you really should consider: managing Home Screen pages themselves.
Why manage Home Screen pages?
The first reason for managing the Home Screen pages is obvious: quickly cutting the amount of apps and pages to trawl through. In the setting-up scenario, you may have set iOS or iPadOS to automatically add apps to the Home Screen, which can result in multiple new pages being created as app icons overflow.
If they are all apps that you don’t necessarily need to see on the Home Screen immediately and are comfortable with using the App Library, you may want to simply delete that page from the list.
Secondly, you can use Home Screen pages as part of your app curation. If you use many apps for a particular reason, such as a number of work-related or task-related apps, you could designate one Home Screen page to be your “work page,” for example.
While you could create a work app folder, using the page for all work apps also makes sense since you can then categorize your work-specific apps within folders based on a particular work task. Using a dedicated page for work also means less time surfing around your Home Screen looking for apps as they’re all on the same screen.
It also benefits from offering fewer distractions since it’s only work-specific apps and related widgets on the Home Screen page.
Managing Home Screen pages
There are three general categories of actions you can take with the Home Screen pages, covering reordering pages, hiding pages, and removing pages.
Reordering pages changes the order the pages are viewed as you swipe between them. Changing the order could be advantageous, such as moving a work-specific page further left so you take fewer swipes to access it from the initial page.
How to reorder Home Screen pages in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15
- Touch and long-press an empty part of the Home Screen, until the app icons start jiggling.
- Tap the row of dots towards the bottom of the screen. The dots represent the number of pages you have on the iPhone or iPad.
- Drag the thumbnails of the pages left and right to change the order.
- Once finished, tap Done in the top-left corner.
There may be occasions where you want to hide a page from view temporarily. For example, the aforementioned work-specific page may want to be hidden to avoid thinking of work or being tempted to check in while on vacation.
This can be managed within the same function.
How to hide a Home Screen page in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15
- Touch and long-press an empty part of the Home Screen, until the app icons start jiggling.
- Tap the row of dots towards the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the encircled checkmark underneath the page you want to hide. The checkmark will disappear.
- Once finished, tap Done in the top-left corner.
- To unhide a hidden page, follow the same instructions, but tapping the empty circle to place a tick instead.
The hidden apps aren’t deleted from your device, as they can still be accessed from the App Library.
If a page contains only apps that you’re OK with not being accessible directly from the Home Screen, you could delete the page. Like hiding pages, deleting pages doesn’t delete apps, as they’re still accessible from the App Library.

iOS 14 brings a huge number of improvements, from headline features like the introduction of widgets to smaller details like being able to tap your iPhone to open apps, but one of our favourite features is the ability to remove apps from the Home screen without having to delete them. That’s possible thanks to Apple’s new App Library, Apple’s equivalent to Android’s App Drawer, that displays your apps in list form separate from your main Home screen.
If you’re running the iOS 14 beta and want to declutter your Home screen without actually deleting any of your precious apps, here’s how to do it.
How to remove apps from the Home screen
Cleaning your Home screen is a cathartic experience, especially when you’re not actually deleting the app. A decluttered Home screen allows for a decluttered mind, after all. Okay I might’ve made that up, but still, it’s nice to have a spacious Home screen – especially with the addition of widgets in iOS 14.
If you’re running the iOS 14 beta and want to remove apps from the Home screen without deleting them, follow these steps:
- Tap and hold the app icon you’d like to remove from your Home screen until the context menu appears.
- Tap Remove App.
- You’ll be asked whether you want to delete the app or simply remove it – tap Remove from Home Screen to confirm its removal.
- The app should then be removed from your Home screen, but should still be visible in the new App Library.
But what if you want to remove multiple apps, or entire screens, at once? Thankfully, you don’t have to remove each app one-by-one – you can hide the entire screen instead. To do that:
- Tap and hold an empty space on your Home screen until your app icons begin to jiggle.
- Tap the Home screen page dot icon at the bottom of the display.
- Uncheck any pages you’d like to hide from the Home screen.
- Click Done in the top-right to apply the change.
The good news is that, unlike with simply removing the app from the Home screen as initially detailed, you can restore the pages without having to individually move each app back to the Home screen.
How to stop new apps from appearing on the Home screen
So, you’ve finally decluttered your Home screen and perfected your combination of apps and widgets, only to find new apps appear whenever they’re installed. You could simply remove the apps as they appear, which arguably only takes a few seconds, but it’s much easier to stop them being added in the first place. As ever, it’s a hugely helpful feature that’s hidden within your iPhone’s Settings menu:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Home Screen.
- Under the New App Downloads heading, tap App Library Only.
It’s as simple as that – now your new apps will appear only in your App Library, giving you the freedom to choose which apps appear on your Home screen. FYI: there’s a Recently Added folder within the App Library that’ll make it easier to locate any recently-installed apps.

5 methods to uninstall an app that you can’t find on your Home Screen.
Looking to empty occupied storage or get rid of unwanted apps on your iPhone or iPad? Though one can easily uninstall apps, the procedure to delete apps works a bit differently on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Thanks to App Library in iOS 14, users now have the option to hide apps and even app pages from the home screen. Hence, if you remove an app from the home screen, it still remains installed on your iPhone. Then how one can uninstall an app after removing it from the home screen?
Well, there are multiple ways to delete an app that is hidden from the home screen. Before that, you need to find the particular app that you want to completely uninstall from your device. After doing so, you can simply delete an app you removed from your iPhone home screen.
Now let’s see how to permanently delete apps instead of hiding them from your home screen. The below methods support iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and earlier iPhones that are running on iOS 14 or iOS 15.

How to delete an app you removed from Home Screen on iOS 14
Make use of one of the below ways to delete an app that’s not on your Home Screen on an iPhone or iPad.
Search and delete the app from App Library
It is quite tedious to manually find an app in the App Library especially if the app is hidden in a certain app group you’re unaware of. Thankfully, you can simply search for an app in the App Library and uninstall it. To do so,
- Swipe left on the home screen until you see the App Library.
- Swipe down on the App Library screen to perform a search.
- Enter the name of the app you want to delete in the search box at the top.
- Long-press the app icon (not the app name).
- Select “Delete App”. Then tap Delete again to confirm.
That’s it. The app and its data will be deleted forever from your device.
Delete apps in App Library
You can delete apps not on the home screen directly from iOS 14’s App Library. For this,
- Swipe to the home screen on the extreme right to open the App Library.
- In the App Library, look for the app you wish to delete. If you can’t find the app then look for it in a corresponding app group like Social, Games, and Utilities.
- Long-tap the app icon.
- Select “Delete App” and tap ‘Delete’ again to uninstall it.
Alternative Way – While you’re in the App Library, press and hold an empty area on the screen to enable the jiggle mode. All the app icons will start dancing. Then tap the x button on the top-left corner of an app and tap the Delete button to confirm your choice. Then tap ‘Done’ at the top-right.
Delete an app from App Store
While one can manually update apps, not many people know that they can delete apps right from the App Store in iOS 13 or later. To do so,
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Scroll down to view the apps with available updates followed by a list of recently updated apps.
- Locate the app you want to uninstall.
- Swipe left on the app tile to unhide the ‘Delete’ option.
- Tap “Delete” and then select ‘Delete’ in the confirmation box.
Using Spotlight Search (in iOS 15)
With Spotlight Search, one can perform a universal search to quickly find anything on their iOS device. iOS 15 improves this further as it adds the ability to install apps as well as delete apps directly from Spotlight. One can even access Spotlight from the lock screen itself on iOS 15, but the device should be in an unlocked state to delete an app.
To delete apps using Spotlight in iOS 15,
- Swipe down the screen while you are on the home screen.
- Type the app name in the search field at the top.
- Long-press the app icon that you want to delete.
- Tap “Delete App”. A confirmation will popup, tap ‘Delete’ to proceed.
From Settings
This is the most common way to uninstall an app or offload it from iPhone or iPad. The benefit of using this method is that it shows the app size as well as the data size of an app. For this,
- Go to Settings > General >iPhone Storage.
- Wait for the iPhone Storage screen to load up. It may take some time depending on the number of apps installed on your device.
- Scroll down the screen and find the app you want to get rid of.
- Tap the particular app tile.
- Tap on “Delete App” and then tap ‘Delete App’ again to permanently remove the app.
NOTE: Instead of deleting, you can use the “Offload App” feature to free up the storage used by the app, while keeping its documents and data intact. Your iPhone will automatically reinstate your data, the next time you reinstall the app from the App Store.
TIP: Remove restriction to delete apps on iPhone
Can’t delete apps in iOS 14 or the ‘Delete App’ option is missing altogether? Worry not! iOS packs a handy feature that allows users to prevent apps from being deleted on iPhone. If you are unable to uninstall an app in iOS 13 or later, then make sure no such restriction is enabled.
For this, go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases. Tap “Deleting Apps” and select “Allow“. You will now be able to delete the apps.
Apple’s upcoming mobile operating system – iOS 15, brings with it a bunch of features that improve your productivity and enhance your iPhone’s looks at the same time. The latest iOS allows you to make quick changes to your Home Screen as you can rearrange your Home Screen pages and remove them at will whenever you want to.

iOS 15: How to Edit Home Screen Pages
Besides the customization options that are already available, you can now edit your Home Screen in such a way that you can rearrange pages, hide/unhide some pages from your home screen, and delete a page entirely.
To start editing your home screen on iOS 15, tap and hold on an empty space on your Home Screen.
When your Home Screen goes into jiggle mode, tap on the row of dots at the bottom of the screen.
You should now see all the home screens appear in a grid format.
1. Arrange pages on the home screen
To arrange the pages in your own way, hold and drag on one of the pages of your Home Screen to your desired location. If there are a bunch of pages you want to appear first, drag them to the first row and move the rest of the pages under that row.
You can repeat this for arranging different pages of your home screen the way you want.
Once you’ve made all necessary changes on this screen, tap on ‘Done’ at the top right.
Your home screen will now appear the way you configured it.
2. Hide/Unhide a page from your home screen
iOS allows you to hide one or more pages from your home screen temporarily so that it remains hidden and inaccessible for some time.
When you access your home screens in grid format, you can hide some of the pages you may have created on it by tapping on the Tick mark at the bottom of the page’s thumbnail to uncheck it. Once you’ve made all necessary changes on this screen, tap on ‘Done’ at the top right.
You can do this for other pages you don’t want to see for some time without needing to delete its contents.
3. Remove a page from your home screen
If you no longer want to access a page from your home screen and want to delete it from iOS entirely, you can remove it. Apple only allows you to remove inactive pages from your home screen – that is, the pages that you have hidden already on iOS.
To remove a page from your home screen, first, hide it and then tap on the ‘-‘ icon at the top left corner of the page you want to remove.
You’ll now be prompted to confirm whether you want to remove the selected screen. Tap on ‘Remove’ to proceed.
The selected page will now be removed completely from your iPhone home screen.
How to Move Apps from Spotlight to Home Screen
iOS 15 also offers the ability to move apps directly from Spotlight to your Home Screen, which means you no longer have to access the App Library every time you want to add apps to your Home Screen. We’ve prepared a step-by-step guide about moving apps from Spotlight to Home Screen in the post we’ve provided in the link below.
Can you create custom home screen pages for different Focus modes?
Apple’s new Focus option has been a major talking feature on iOS 15 since it changes the way you use the Do Not Disturb function on your iPhone. In addition to letting you create a bunch of routines based on your required state, the newest version of iOS lets you set a custom Home Screen so that only a specific page or set of pages appear when a Focus is activated.
This means you’ll have different home screens when you switch between different routines on Focus. If you wish to create custom home screen pages using Focus, read the in-depth post that we’ve linked below.
That’s all you need to know about editing your home screen on iOS 15.

With iOS 14 and later, you can hide all the Home Screen pages except one. In addition to giving a clean look, it also makes reaching the App Library quicker. Plus, if you want to hide some apps, you can place them on one of the Home Screens and hide that page.
In this quick tutorial, we show you how to hide Home Screen pages, move them around to rearrange them, and delete the ones you no longer need.
How to hide Home Screen pages on iPhone
1) Press an empty area on the Home Screen until all apps start jiggling. You can also press any app icon and choose Edit Home Screen to enter jiggle mode.
2) Tap the pill shape above the Dock that shows tiny dots.
3) Uncheck the Home Screen pages you wish to hide. You will have to keep at least one page.
4) Tap Done twice to successfully hide the Home Screen pages.
- New apps you download will show in App Library only. If you want them to appear on the existing, unhidden Home Screen page, go to Settings > Home Screen and tap Add to Home Screen. You can also easily move apps in and out of the App Library.
- Hiding a Home Screen page does not delete the apps on it. You can still open the apps on the hidden Home Screen using any of the following ways.
- Swipe down on an existing Home Screen, type the app initials, and tap the app icon.
- Go to the App Library by swiping left on the last Home Screen and find the app here.
- Call Siri and ask it to open the app. Like, Open Twitter.
- In the future, if you want to unhide the hidden Home Screen pages, follow the same steps and check the small circles. This will once again make these pages visible. Unhiding will keep the same app layout as before.
How to rearrange Home Screen pages
Starting with iOS 15, you can change the order or placement of Home Screens. For example, you can move the entire 2nd Home Screen to the last or anywhere in the middle and so on. Here’s how to do that.
1) Press an empty area on the Home Screen until all apps start jiggling, and tap the dots above the Dock.
2) Touch a Home Screen page drag it left, right, up, or down to change its position.
3) Tap Done > Done to save the changes.
How to delete Home Screen pages
iOS 15 also introduced the ability to get rid of entire Home Screen pages if you no longer need them. Here’s how to do that. But be informed that this action is irreversible. Once you delete a Home Screen page, you can’t get it back. However, doing so doesn’t delete the apps on it. They will stay in the App Library.
1) Press an empty area on the Home Screen until all apps start jiggling, and tap the dots above the Dock.
2) Uncheck the page you wish to delete.
3) Now, tap the minus icon (–) that appears.
4) Tap Remove to delete the Home Screen page.
5) Tap Done to return to the remaining Home Screens.
This is how you can organize your Home Screen pages on iPhone and iPad. Want more such tips? Here are a few must-read posts that you will find handy.
If you’ve often found yourself scrolling through pages and pages of apps you never use, it may be time to delete, hide, or offload apps on your iPhone.
You can delete or uninstall an app on any version of iOS. With iOS 14 or later, there’s an additional option to hide an app from your Home Screen while keeping it in your App Library.
You can also offload an app — which deletes the app but retains its data — on iOS 11 or later.
Here’s how to do it all.
How to delete apps on an iPhone
If you’re not sure what version of iOS you have, open the Settings app, tap General, and then tap About. Your current iOS version will be listed next to “Software Version.”
How to delete apps in iOS 14 and later
1. Find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
2. In the pop-up menu, select Remove App.
3. Then select Delete App in the next pop-up.
4. Tap Delete on the next pop-up.
How to delete apps in iOS 13
1. On your Home Screen, find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
2. In the menu that appears, tap Rearrange Apps.
3. All your apps will start jiggling, and small X icons will appear at the top of all the apps that you can delete.
4. Tap the X on any app you want to delete.
5. A menu will open, asking you to confirm that you want to delete it. Tap Delete to delete the app.
How to delete apps in iOS 12 and earlier
1. On your Home Screen, press and firmly hold the icon of the app you want to delete. It may take one or two seconds, but wait for all the icons on your screen to begin jiggling and little X marks to appear at the top of each one.
2. Tap the X that appears at the top-left corner of the app you want to delete.
3. In the pop-up, tap “Delete.” Otherwise, click “Cancel” and repeat the process with the correct app.
Note: If you accidentally delete an app, you’ll need to re-download the app from the App Store — there’s no “undo” button for app deletion.
Deleting an app will also remove its associated data. But if you want the data to Reiman, you should instead try hiding the app from your Home Screen, or offloading the app, described below.
How to hide apps on your iPhone without deleting them
The option to hide apps from your Home Screen and keep them in your App Library is only available on iOS 14 and later.
1. Find the app you want to delete, then press and hold your finger down on its icon.
Quick tip: To quickly find an app in the App Library, you can tap the search bar on the top and enter its name in the text box.
2. In the pop-up, select Remove App.
3. Then select Remove from Home Screen. The app will now be hidden from your Home Screen and moved to your App Library.
Quick tip: To return an app to the Home Screen from the App Library, hold your finger down on its icon and select Add to Home Screen.
4. To access your App Library, swipe to the right-most page of your Home Screen. You can use the search bar at the top to find the app, or scroll through the categories.
How to offload an app on your iPhone
Instead of fully deleting an app and all the data it carries, you can offload using the Settings app. Offloading removes the app from your iPhone but archives its data, allowing you to pick up where you left off when you reinstall the app.
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap the General tab.
3. Tap iPhone Storage.
4. Scroll down to find a list of apps and tap the one in question.
5. Tap Offload App to begin the app offloading process.
6. On the pop-up that shows, confirm your action by hitting Offload App. This will delete the app but keep its documents and data.
7. On the iPhone Storage page, you can also choose to let your iPhone automatically offload unused apps when it’s low on storage. Tap Enable beside Offload Unused Apps.
- You can now hide some of your app pages on an iPhone and declutter your home screen with the App Library in iOS 14.
- To hide a page of apps, put your iPhone in jiggle mode and tap the page indicator at the bottom of the screen. Clear the check for any pages you want to hide.
- You can restore pages you’ve hidden in the same way.
Keeping your iPhone organized can sometimes seem like a full-time job, especially if you frequently install new apps.
iOS 14 gives you a few ways to help manage your apps, including the ability to completely hide entire pages of apps.
You’re not losing much when you do this, because all your apps are still accessible and easily found in the App Library, which is the right-most page on your iPhone (swipe left to get there).
How to hide app pages on the iPhone
1. Tap and hold a blank spot on any page of apps on your iPhone. Let go when the screen starts to jiggle.
2. At the bottom of the screen you should see a page indicator which has one dot for each page on your phone (there is one dot for each home screen plus one dot for the App Library). Tap it.
3. On the “Edit Pages” screen, you can see all the app pages on your phone. Tap to clear the check mark for each page you want to hide. (You can’t hide all your pages – your iPhone will always ensure that at least one page is visible).
4. Tap “Done,” and then when you return to the home screen, tap “Done” again.
If you want to restore a hidden page, just repeat the process and check the hidden pages.
Do you have too many app pages on on your iPhon ehome screen? Thanks to the App Library feature of the latest iOS, you can now clean up your home screen by hiding unnecessary pages. This is made easy with the help of the new App Library feature, and much like you can move and delete apps from the App Library you can also hide app pages too.
If you’ve been an iPhone user for the past few years at least, you would have filled up several pages of your home screen with just apps that you’ve gradually downloaded and installed from the App Store. At this point, finding and opening a specific application by scrolling through multiple pages is may be a challenge due to the sheer number of apps installed on your device. By choosing to hide these additional pages, you’re making the apps stored in them to be accessible from the App Library.
Interested in keeping your home screen well-organized with the help of App Library? Read on as we’ll cover how you can hide app pages from your iOS home screen.
How to Hide App Pages on iPhone App Library
Before you go ahead with the procedure, make sure your device is running iOS 14 or later, since this feature isn’t available on older versions. Now, without further ado, let’s take a look at the necessary steps.
- To hide your home screen pages, you’ll need to head over to the Edit Pages menu. To do this, long-press on the home screen to enter jiggle mode and tap on the dot icon as shown below.
Now, you can uncheck the pages that you want to hide. The apps stored in these hidden pages will be accessible from the App Library. Tap on “Done” at the top-right corner of the screen to save the changes. To view the App Library, swipe past the last page on your home screen.
That’s pretty much all there is to it. You’ve successfully hidden unwanted pages of apps from your iPhone’s home screen.
This is probably the fastest and most convenient way to get rid of the clutter on your home screen and keep all of your apps neatly organized. Since these apps are now exclusively stored in the App Library, you don’t even have to manually manage it as they’re all automatically sorted by category and stored in folders.
Unfortunately, App Library isn’t available on iPadOS 14 for some reason, so you’re out of luck if you were looking to hide app pages from your iPad’s home screen.
If you want to move some of the apps that are still on the home screen, you can simply long-press to enter jiggle mode and tap on the “-” icon next to an app. In addition to the usual “Delete App” option, you’ll also find a new “Move to App Library” option.
We hope you were able to minimize the number of app pages and clean up your home screen with the help of App Library. What’s your take on this nifty new feature that Apple has introduced with the latest iOS update? Have you been enjoying the other changes in iOS 14? Do share your valuable opinions and experiences in the comments section down below.
The Share icon within the Safari browser allows you to send a link to a Web page to a number of different locations. Whether you want to email a Web page to someone or send it through a text message, the option exists within that menu.
But you can also choose to send Web page links, or “bookmarks”, to your iPhone’s home screen. If you do this enough, however, you might find that your Home screen is becoming overridden with Web page bookmarks. Our short guide below will show you how to delete bookmarks that you no longer need.
Delete Web Page Bookmark Icons from an iPhone
These steps were performed on an iPhone 5, in iOS 8. However, these same steps can also be performed to delete Web page links from your Home screen on other versions of iOS as well.
Note that the bookmark icons that get added to your Home screen are different than the bookmarks that you can create in the Safari browser. You can follow the steps in this article to delete bookmarks from within the Safari browser.
Step 1: Locate the Web page link that you want to delete.
Step 2: Tap and hold the icon until all of the icons on the screen start to shake.
Step 3: Tap the small x at the top-left corner of the link that you want to delete.
Step 4: Press the Delete button to confirm that you wish to delete the bookmark. You can then press the Home button under your screen to stop your app icons from shaking.

After receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science he spent several years working in IT management for small businesses. However, he now works full time writing content online and creating websites.

With so many apps available for iPhone on the App Store, it doesn’t take long before you download so many that managing them can start to get a bit tiresome and unwieldy. Having multiple pages of apps extending off the initial Home Screen can be a burden, especially if you like to organize what you can see on the screen into any sort of meaningful order.
Fortunately, in iOS 14 and later, Apple allows you to hide individual pages of apps from sight. This not only gives your iPhone a tidier look and feel, but it also serves to bring the App Library closer to your initial Home Screen, making it that much easier to access using fewer swipes.
How to Hide iPhone App Pages on the Home Screen
- Long press on a blank area of the Home Screen or any additional page of apps.
- Once in jiggle mode, tap the app page dot icons just above the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap to uncheck any app pages that you want to hide.
- Tap Done in the top-right corner of the screen to finish.
- Tap Done in the top-right corner to exit out of jiggle mode.
To reinstate any app pages you hid using this method, simply follow the steps again, but in step 3, check the app pages you want to unhide instead.
I was going through some of the web page bookmarks (not apps) that I had added to my iPhone home screen. I found one that I wanted to remove, but was not able to do so just using the iPhone. Doing a long press resulted in a different action and not the jiggling icons with the X on the upper left. As a workaround, I was able to accomplish this by connecting my iPhone to my Mac, launching iTunes, bringing up an image of the home screen, selecting the web page bookmark, going to the Edit menu, selecting Cut, and then Apply the results to sync back to the iPhone. So what I am really asking is: how do I remove a web page bookmark from the iPhone home screen by only using the iPhone and not relying on iTunes on the Mac?

Richard — I get the “X” just like with other apps. Perhaps there was something wrong with that Home Screen bookmark? Try creating one right now, and then deleting it. I just did and the X appeared and I deleted it.
Question: Did the X appear for the other apps? If not, then perhaps you pressed too hard and got a “3D Touch” (AKA force touch) instead of the normal behavior. Try a lighter touch.
Gary, Your theory is correct. I was triggering the 3D Touch feature on an iPhone 7 (hadn’t used one with 3D Touch until today). I pressed too hard (as I was used to doing with iPhones that didn’t have 3D Touch) and found that if I just rested my finger lightly on the icon, then this would launch the expected behavior, in which the icons jiggled and the X appeared and I could then delete apps/
Whether you’re new to iPhone or a veteran user, you probably have a lot of apps on your Home screen. It can be difficult to find the app you’re looking for if you have a bunch of disorganized pagesВ filled with apps. In this article, I’ll show you how to move apps on your iPhone and organize them too!
How Do I Move Apps On An iPhone?
To move apps on iPhone, gently press and hold the app you want to move until it starts to wiggle. If a menu pops up that gives you options about the app, you’ve pressed too hard and activated 3D Touch.
Once you see that the app is wiggling, you can move it by dragging it across the screen with your finger.В You can also delete apps by pressing the X icon in the upper left corner of the app.
How Do I Group Apps On An iPhone?
Now that you know how to move apps, it’s important to know how to organize them so they’re easy to find. You can put your apps in folders or on a new Home screen page.
Folders
If you want to move apps on an iPhone into specific folders, gently press and hold the app you want to move first. Once you’ve selected the app to move, drag it on top of another app you want to put in the same folder. Once the folder has appeared, release the app.
You can fit nine apps per folder page and have up to fifteen pages per folder. You can also rename the folder by selecting the folder then pressing the name above the apps.
Putting An App On A New Page
First, gently press and hold on the icon of the app you want to move.В Next, drag it over to the right or left edge of the screen and hold it there. After a second or two, your app will be moved to the next screen. You can choose to put it there or move it to a new blank screen by repeating the process.
Resetting The Home Screen Layout
If you ever get sick of your new Home screen layout, you can always reset it to factory defaults. Your apps won’t be deleted, but all the folders you’ve created will be. Your non-Apple apps will appear on the Home screen in alphabetical order. If you use iOS 14, apps you’ve sent to the App Library will also be sent back to the Home screen.
Follow these steps to reset your iPhone’s Home screen layout:
- OpenВ Settings.
- TapВ General.
- Scroll down and tapВ Reset.
- TapВ Reset Home Screen Layout.
Home Screen Customization
The new iOS update offers so many new features. For example, you can now add widgets to your Home Screen, which act as an “app preview” of sorts.
These widgets are incredibly helpful for keeping your iPhone’s home screen organized. When you tap one, the full-sized app appears on your display. If you swipe left to right, you can see all your widgets at once.
If you don’t see the widget that you want, it’s easy to add! Click the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner of your display to add any app to your widgets page.
There are two easy ways to add widgets to your Home Screen. Here’s the first method:
How To Add Widgets To iPhone Home Screen From Widgets Menu
Before you begin, swipe left to right on your home screen to access the Widgets menu.
- Press and hold the desired widget.
- Tap Edit Home Screen.
- Drag it to your Home Screen like you would a newly downloaded app.
Applies To: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPhone SE (2nd generation)
The other way to customize your Home Screen is to:
- Press and hold anywhere on your screen.
- Tap the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- Pick the widget you want to add.
- Select what size you want the widget to appear as, and click Add Widget.
Add however many widgets you want. If you want to reduce clutter, you can stack widgets by dragging and placing them on top of one another. It’s all up to you! Play around and make your home screen completely your own.
App Library
The iOS 14 update also includes an App Library. This is a great new feature that reduces clutter on your Home Screen and makes your apps more easily accessible. To open the App Library, start on your Home Screen. Then, swipe right to left through the various pages until you run out. The App Library will pop up once you swipe all of the pages away.
You can search the App Library for any particular app. You can also remove an app from your home screen and it will remain accessible in your App Library. Don’t worry, you can still delete an app from your iPhone whenever you want!
Another convenient feature of the App Library is that apps that you use frequently show up towards the top of the Library display, so that you don’t have to look for them. Pretty neat, right?

There are many ways to uninstall applications on iPhone, but in this article I will share a very brief trick in just 2 steps, see here!
- How to uninstall apps on iPhone, iPad?
- Trouble when unable to remove the application on Android
If you want to perform a more complicated way, please refer to the article how to install and delete iPhone apps. And the method that I am about to show below applies to all iPhone models: iPhone 6, 7, 8, X, even iPhone 11.
Method 1: Uninstall an application on iPhone
This is how you will uninstall each application.
Method 1 : Press and hold on the application icon then select ‘Delete application’
Step 2 : Click ‘Delete’ to confirm the application uninstall.
Method 2: Press and hold longer to delete multiple applications
Click on the icon and hold longer than usual, then the screen will appear more X marks on the application. If you want to delete an application, click on its X mark.
Step 1 : Click the ‘x’ on the application you want to delete.
Step 2: Click ‘Delete’ to confirm the application removal and press
The iOS operating system on your iPhone displays all of your installed app icons on a series of “Home” screens that you can navigate by swiping left or right on the screen. These apps can also include links to Web pages that you have chosen to save to your device.
If there are a lot of icons that make it difficult for you to find the apps that you use, then you might be wondering how to delete the icons that you don’t use. Fortunately this process can be completed quickly and easily, and our how-to guide below will show you how to get rid of unwanted or unused app icons on your device.
Click here to find out why your iPhone battery icon sometimes turns yellow.
Uninstalling Apps on the iPhone 6 Plus
The steps in this guide were performed on an iPhone 6 Plus, in iOS 8.1.2. However, these same steps can also be used to delete apps on other models of iPhone, as well as in most previous versions of iOS.
Deleting app icons in this manner will completely delete that app from your device. If you simply wish to hide some icons without deleting them, then using app folders might be a better solution.
Step 1: Locate the app icon that you want to delete from your iPhone. In this guide I will be deleting the FXNow app.
Step 2: Tap and hold the app icon until all of the apps start to shake and a small x appears at the top-left corner of the icon.
Step 3: Tap the small x at the top-left corner of the icon. Note that some apps will not have an x at the top-left corner. These are the device’s default apps, and they cannot be deleted. This full list of apps that cannot be deleted will show you what apps must remain on your device.
Step 4: Tap the Delete button to confirm that you want to delete the app and all of its’ data.
You can then tap the Home button under your screen to make the apps stop shaking and return to the normal usage mode.
If you are removing apps from your device because you need to free up space for new apps, music or videos, then this guide can show you how to delete some common items.

Clear out the junk and clutter of random apps on your Android phone or tablet with just a couple of taps.
- 4 ways to uninstall apps for Android devices
- Instructions to restore deleted applications on Android / iOS
Single-use apps on my Android phone far outnumber the apps that I use on a daily basis. Whether it’s the latest social network that everyone is joining or a random game that I installed to keep me entertained for a few minutes, I have too many apps.
Not only do extra apps clutter up the app drawer, but they take up precious storage space on my phone. Admittedly, I need to get better at routinely taking a few minutes and uninstalling apps I’ll never use again.
Deleting an app on your Android phone or tablet is a straightforward process, taking just a few seconds to complete. Here are four different ways you can uninstall an app on your Android phone.

This method works on every Android phone
The tried-and-true method for deleting apps from your Android phone or tablet is simple: Long-press on the app’s icon until the app shortcut’s popup shows up. You’ll either see an “i” button or see App Info; tap it. Next, tap Uninstall.
It’s simple and works on every Android device I’ve ever used.
Here are three alternative ways to delete apps
As with all things Android, not all phones work the same way, and there are multiple ways of achieving the same task.
For example, you can view a list of all apps installed on your phone in Settings > Apps & Notifications (sometimes it’s just listed as Apps).
Selecting an app will show you the same App Info screen you can access from the app shortcut, complete with the Uninstall button. For some, seeing a list of all of your apps in one place instead of looking through the home screen or app drawer may be a better way to cut the fluff.
You can also use the Play Store to uninstall apps by viewing the app’s Play Store listing and selecting Uninstall next to the Open or Update button.
Some phones have different options for completing the same tasks.
On Samsung and OnePlus phones, for instance, you don’t have to go through the extra step of selecting App Info from a long press on the app icon. There’s an Uninstall option in the app shortcuts menu, making the process much easier and quicker.
After deleting apps to give yourself some extra storage and thin out your app drawer, make sure you check out how to get around Android 10 with its new gesture navigation . WANT to clean up your homescreen? The latest iPhone update makes it easier than ever.
You can now easily hide apps on your homescreen without deleting them.
And if you’ve got loads of homescreen pages then you can hide those too – while keeping their layout intact.
The iPhone has been out since 2007, and over that time the number of apps we’ve downloaded has ballooned.
Even if you keep them organised in folders, it’s likely you still have several homescreen pages.
It was previously impossible to hide apps or pages without actually deleting apps.
But the latest iOS 14 update adds new features that let you reorganise your iPhone with zero downsides.
For a start, you’ve now got a permanent App Library if you scroll all the way to the right of your homescreen.
This is where all of your apps are stored, and they’re automatically organised into their own categories.
So if you’ve got any apps on hidden homescreen pages, they’ll still be visible in your App Library.
Hiding a homescreen page is simple.
First, make sure any apps that you want to hide are stored on a homescreen page you’re happy to hide too.
Then hold your finger down on the homescreen until your app icons start wiggling.
Next, tap on the bubble with dots inside at the bottom of your screen – the one that shows which page you’re on.
This will bring you to a homescreen view that lets you hide individual pages – by “unticking” them.
Once you’re finished, just click Done in the top right-hand corner.
These pages aren’t gone forever, and are perfectly preserved until the next time you want to unhide them.
Of course, you can also leave them hidden forever too.

Here are some of the best.
- Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
- Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
- Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
- Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen (or swipe left to right on an iPhone X or later model), then tap in the bar and type a currency (like $200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
- Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
- Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
The new iPhone update added loads of other nifty features too.
You can now add widgets to your homescreen, using the left-most homescreen panel.
These include widgets for tracking your fitness metrics, showing notes or calendar appointments, and info about the news or weather.
The update is free to download and is available right now.

You wanna hide apps from your iPhone home screen, do you?
First of all, there are plenty of reasons to make an iPhone app more difficult to access, and many of them are perfectly wholesome. Perhaps you want to hide your Venmo/Cash App so it’s not easily accessible on your home screen. Or maybe you want to hide your Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. if you have a little sibling who likes to steal your phone and post embarrassing pics of you on your socials. So now that you know we’re not here to judge, here’s how to do it:
1. Find the app you want to remove from your home screen
2. Tap and hold the app until a menu pops up with the option to “Remove App”
2A) You can also tap and hold the home screen until the apps start shaking, and then tap the little “minus” sign next to the app you want to hide
3. Tap “Remove App” (If you did option 2A, you’ll skip this step)
4. You’ll see options to either delete the app, remove it from the home screen, or cancel the action. Choose “Remove from Home Screen”
5. The app will be hidden and won’t appear on your home screen
Cool! But now. how do you find it again? Check out our piece on how to find hidden apps here.
The app, though hidden from your home screen, is still in your app library. You can access it there, or retrieve it and put it back on your home screen.

Sometimes, you don’t need to see an entire screen full of app icons, or you need an app installed, but don’t need to tap it often. Here’s how to easily store all your apps in the App Library in iOS 14.
If you’re tired of scrolling through page after page of apps in your iPhone, iOS 14 has a new trick for you — hiding apps. All apps on your iPhone can now easily be stored in the App Library, and we can show you how to do it.
The App Library allows you to store all your apps in a single place, rather than having individual apps scattered across multiple home screens. Keeping apps in the App Library is especially useful if you’ve got apps that you need regular access to, but don’t need to access daily.
Moving apps to the App Library does not truly hide the apps the same way that hiding photos works in iOS 14. Still, it does keep your home screen cleaned up quite nicely.
How to hide apps in iOS 14
- Tap and hold your home screen until you see the apps wiggle
- Tap on the app you wish to delete
- Tap Remove App
- Tap Move to App Library
You can now swipe to your right-most screen where all your apps are stored. Apps that are moved to the App Library are also available in search and can be launched via a Siri query.
If you decide that you like the App Library and you want all your apps to download into it automatically, that’s easy enough to do, too.
How to download apps to your App Library in iOS 14
- Open Settings
- Tap Home Screen
- Tap App Library
- Optional: Toggle on notification badges by tapping Show in App Library under the Notification Badges option.
Of course, if you don’t want an app on your iPhone at all, it’s easy to get rid of it. Remember that deleting an app also clears all your data unless the app stores it in the cloud, so be careful to back up anything you want.
You can also get rid of some of the preloaded apps that Apple ships with your phone, too. This includes apps like Tips, TV, and Weather.
How to delete apps in iOS 14
- Tap and hold your home screen until you see the apps wiggle
- Tap on the app you wish to delete
- Tap Remove App
- Tap Delete App
- Tap Delete
If you decide that you would like the app on your iPhone again, you can download them from the App Store — this includes apps that Apple has preloaded on your phone.
To tell you the truth, there is no way to permanently remove the App Store form the iPhone. Remember, this is one of the essential native apps that cannot be deleted and there is no “x” icon once you initiate the delete app wobble. So is there anything you can do?
Of course, there is. But it might not be the removal you’d expect. After all, the App Store acts like a bloodline that supplies the necessary app updates to ensure your iPhone doesn’t become too buggy or slows down. Anyway, we’ll present you with some great tips and tricks to hide or restrict the App Store, rather than remove it completely.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind
The easiest way to get rid of the App Store is to remove it from the iPhone dock or your Home screen. Admittedly, this is not much but it might prevent you from overloading your iPhone’s screen with the apps you don’t want to see.
Tap and hold the App Store or any other app icon until they all start wobbling. Then, move the App Store icon to a location that’s not exactly always at your fingertips. For example, group folders or the last app screen are a good place to hide it.
The App Store Restrictions
There is a neat trick to make the App Store disappear from the iPhone. This can come in handy if you want to prevent your children or family members from making in-app purchases and deleting/installing apps. Here are the necessary steps.
Step 1
Launch the Settings app, navigate to Screen Time, and tap to access the menu. Select “Content & Privacy Restrictions” under Screen Time and make sure the option is toggled on.
Step 2
Tap “iTunes & App Store Purchases,” then select “Don’t Allow next to all the options under “Store Purchases & Redownloading.” There is no master switch, so you’ll need to manually tap and select each option – Installing Apps, Deleting Apps, and In-app Purchases.
After you do this, go back to your Home screen and you’ll realize App Store is nowhere to be found. Some users might find this as an extreme measure since you need to reverse the changes to update your apps or download new ones.
To keep the App Store and still have a decent security level, enable the Apple ID password. While still in the “iTunes & App Store Purchases” menu, tap on “Always Require” under Require Password. Now, whenever someone wants to make a purchase he or she will be requested to provide your Apple ID password.
Important Note
These steps have been tried and tested on iPhone 6s+ that runs iOS 12.4 and they don’t apply for iPhones that run iOS older than 12. However, there is an alternative method.
Access Settings, tap General, and select Restrictions. To enter the Restrictions window, you’ll be required to provide the Restrictions passcode. It’s a 4-digit PIN you entered when you enabled Restrictions in the first place and it might be different from the passcode that unlocks your iPhone.
Once inside the menu, you should tap on the button next to the options under Allow to remove/block the App Store on your iPhone. Again, you can choose Installing Apps, In-App Purchases, and Deleting Apps.
Can You Remove Other Native Apps?
Aside from the App Store, there is also an option to remove or block other native apps, even the ones you cannot uninstall. This is also done via the Screen Time menu. You should select “Content & Privacy Restrictions,” then enter Allowed Apps.
Now, you should tap on the button next to the app to temporarily remove it from the iPhone. This menu doesn’t feature the App Store but you can remove Camera, Wallet, iTunes Store, and more. Plus, you are not required to provide any passwords to initiate the actions.
Is There a Way to Uninstall Native Apps?
Since the launch of iOS 10, you can uninstall many native apps. These include AppleBooks, News, Files, Mail, Notes, FaceTime, etc. In total, you can remove 25 preinstalled apps.
The quick way to do it is to tap and hold an app to make all of them wobble. Then, just x away the ones that take up unnecessary space. For example, you don’t need the Watch app if you don’t own the iWatch. And when you get one, you can always reinstall the app from the App Store (if you haven’t removed it, of course).
Put It on Auto
You can automatically uninstall/offload the apps you don’t use. This features deals with both the apps that come preinstalled and the ones you’ve installed.
Access Settings, swipe down to “iTunes & App Store,” and tap to enter. The “Offload Unused Apps” option is at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the button to toggle it on and that’s it. You should know that this action doesn’t delete the app data. Instead, it will be completely restored after you reinstall the app.
Where Did the App Store Go?
Certain jailbreak methods claim to help you remove the App Store altogether. However, you should refrain from using those methods because they might jeopardize iOS integrity. After all, you still need the store for most of the apps on your phone and the native removal methods are more than sufficient.
Why do you want to remove the App Store from your iPhone? Have you been spending a lot of money on paid apps? Write a few lines in the comments and give us your two cents.
In this step by step tutorial you will learn how you can change app icons on iOS 14 home screen using the Shortcuts app. Changing app icons and creating custom icons will let you fully customize the look and feel of your device’s home screen.
The release of iOS 14 has opened the floodgates to iPhone home screen customization. Nowadays it is trendy to add beautiful looking widgets and wallpapers to give iOS home screen a unique look. Good news is you can take your home screen customization a step further by changing app icons on your device’s home screen.
iOS still does not allow users to change app icons or install a theme pack, however there’s a workaround that will enable you to add custom icons with the image of your choice to the home screen and use them to launch any app of your choice. By adding custom app icons to your home screen you can create a fully personalized look for the home screen without jailbreaking it.
While changing app icons on iOS 14 home screen using this workaround is a fairly easy process it is also quite long. Performing these steps for multiple apps can take a lot of time and effort. Not to mention the biggest drawback of this workaround i.e. whenever you tap on a custom app icon it will first launch the Shortcuts app and then redirect you to the app you want to launch, which can get annoying. But if having a custom home screen design is important to you, then it is a small price to pay for many users out there. And if you are one of them, then continue reading.
How To Change App Icons For Any App Using Shortcuts
Follow these steps to change app icons for any app using the Shortcuts app and create the perfect look for the iOS 14 home screen.
- Launch Shortcuts app and tap on the ‘+’ button from top right corner of the screen.
- Now tap on Add Action and type Open App in the search field.
- Select the Open App option under Actions and then tap on Choose.
- Now search for the app that you want to create the custom icon for and select it from the results.
- Now tap on the three dots from the top right corner of the screen and tap on Add to Home Screen.
- Next tap on the placeholder app icon and from the drop down menu select Take Photo, Choose Photo or Choose file to select the image you want to use as custom app icon’s image.
- After choosing the image for the icon type the name of the app in the text field, this will appear as the icon label.
- Tap on Add and then tap on Done.
At this point your custom app icon with your chosen image will be added to the home screen. Tapping on it will let you launch the app you selected during the tutorial above. At this point you can simply move the original icon of the app into a folder or move it to the App Library.
Needless to say you should not delete the original app icon as it will delete the app from your device and make your custom icon useless.
There you have it, this is how you can easily change app icons on iOS 14 home screen and personalize the home screen just the way you like.

Apple’s new iOS 14 brings a new way to help you tame that ever-growing number of apps on your iPhone. Here’s how to hide apps you hardly ever, or never, use.
Even if you have managed to keep your iPhone to just a screen or two of apps, the new iOS 14 offers a new app-management features that is particularly handy. If, instead, you currently have a dozen screens and have to rely on Siri to find anything, this is definitely for you.
The combination of being able to hide entire pages is a boon. It means you don’t have to delete and then redownload apps, you can keep them there — yet not end up having to hunt through pages just to get the one you need.
How to hide app pages
- Tap and hold on a blank spot on the home screen
- When the page dots at the bottom are highlighted, tap on them
- From the display of pages, choose which you want to hide
- Tap to remove the tick under a page or the pages you don’t want
- Tap Done to get out of editing pages
- Tap Done again to finish
Curiously, you can’t just tap on the row of dots that represent your pages. You have to press and hold on a blank part of the screen, but iOS 14 makes that easier by how it has shrunk the gap between rows of icons.
There’s now quite a gap between the bottom row and the dock, which seems to be solely there to enable this ability to tap on a blank spot.
Of course at some point, you may want to show these hidden pages. Again, you start by pressing and holding on a gap.
How to show hidden app pages
- Tap and hold on a blank spot on the home screen
- When the page dots at the bottom are highlighted, tap on them
- From the display of pages, choose which you want to show
- Tap to add the tick under a page or the pages you want
- Tap Done to get out of editing pages
- Tap Done again to finish
It’s really exactly the same process, just with you making different decisions over what you want to see. In practice, though, you are far less likely to show any of these pages again than you might imagine.
You might end up dragging some apps off a page before you hide it. And you might spend some time arranging apps before you decide which screens to hide.
But the result is the same. With iOS 14, your iPhone will show you the apps you need and end that swiping back and forth, that digging into folders, that we’ve all had to do for years.

Before iOS 12 came along, moving app icons from one home screen to the other was an extremely painful task. You have to select each app and move it individually to the other screen. In fact, this task is so painful, it’s almost like playing PUBG using a console controller.
Today, we’re going to make things extremely easy for you, allowing you to move multiple app icons from point A to point B at once. You don’t have to do this for every single app. Just bundle them all in one place, and drop them on the home screen of your choice. Pick up your iPhone or iPad, and let’s learn how to move those pesky app icons around.
First of all, select any app icon by tapping and holding it down with your finger. Let go when the icons on the home screen start to jiggle. Now use your finger to hold down one app so that you can move it around. Want to move the second app too? Use another finger to tap on it and it will bundle up with the first one. Check out the GIF below to see how it works.
Don’t mind the glare, it’s just chilling there.
So, now that you’ve mastered the art of moving those pesky icons around in a bunch, it’ll be great if you share the love with your friends as well. After all, we’re certain that they’ve found themselves in a situation where they wanted to get this task done, but didn’t know how to go about it in a far more efficient manner.
We’ll be back with more useful tips in the time to come so make sure you’re tuned in to our coverage.
