Christmas songs are back in full force and one guy’s hilarious rendition of ‘chestnuts roasting on an open fire’ has gone viral on TikTok.
The famous lyric comes from Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song, a classic festive tune that is well-known across the world.
Written in 1945 by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé and recorded by Nat King Cole in 1946, the song has been a Christmas hit for decades.
It comes back every year, but it’s the song of the 2022 festive season thanks to the hilarious video which has had the internet in hysterics…
‘Chestnuts roasting on an open fire’ video goes viral
The clip, which was originally posted on Smule by a guy with the username @AnucAtittawan, sees him singing the famous Christmas song.
Smule is an American music app available on both iOS and Android where people can sing millions of karaoke songs.
He hilariously mispronounces the lyrics and uses a funny voice so it sounds more like ‘chess nuss roathing orn arn orpen fuy’.
He continues singing the songs in the strange accent and his version definitely sounds nothing like the original – but it’s much funnier!
The best part is the guy is wearing headphones and looks like he’s being really serious and trying hard to hit the notes.
