Did Ozzy Osbourne die? Black Sabbath singer falls victim to death hoax

Black Sabbath fans are asking whether Ozzy Osbourne did really die after a cruel death hoax started trending – heads up, it’s false.

Death hoaxes have become increasingly common thanks to social media’s ability to propagate false information. Just this month, familiar favorites such as Steve Harvey and Bryan Cranston have been subject to such hoaxes, as well as newer stars such as Ice Spice. Now, Black Sabbath’s very own Ozzy Osbourne is in the firing line.

No, Ozzy Osbourne did not die

On Saturday, March 11, Ozzy Osbourne fell victim to a cruel death hoax which alleged the singer had passed away. This is false. Osbourne is alive and well in March 2023 and the singer has been active on social media in the time he is alleged to have passed away.

Despite many realizing this was yet another cruel death hoax, that didn’t stop some from raising their concerns. Last month Ozzy Osbourne canceled his 2023 tour because of his declining health. The singer explained that he was “physically weak” and unable to perform.

Ozzy Osbourne opens up on accident which damaged his spine

Last month, Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne announced that he would be canceling all of his 2023 tour dates as he struggles with his declining health.

“As you all may know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine,” Osbourne writes. “My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

Osbourne damaged his spine after a fall at his Los Angeles home. This further caused damage to an injury from decades prior, the result of a bike accident that happened back in 2003.

This is not the first death hoax Ozzy Osbourne has faced

Being an icon of rock, Ozzy Osbourne has gained thousands of fans the world over. So, inevitably, when rumors stir about his wellbeing, it raises quite the alarm.

This month’s cruel death hoax is, unfortunately, not the first that Osbourne has faced. The Changes singer faced such a falsehood last year after an alleged Facebook page titled RIP Ozzy Osbourne gained traction online. The page was created after Osbourne’s surgery, which prompted some fans to think it was real.

So, for any concerned fan of the Prince of Darkness need not worry!
