Brit holidaymakers on Jet2 flight from Cypress suffer terrifying ordeal after pilot had to call in emergency services before landing at Leeds Bradford airport

HOLIDAYMAKERS experienced mid-air drama after the pilot of a Jet2 plane due to land at Leeds Bradford Airport feared the landing gear wasn't working.

The pilot alerted staff on the ground before emergency services rushed to the scene on standby, West Yorkshire Police have confirmed.

The passenger plane was returning to Leeds Bradford airport from Lanarka in Cyprus this evening, a spokesman for police told Sun Online.

Twitter users reported seeing police cars, fire engines and ambulances at the commercial airport.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A pilot was worried that he had a problem in relation to his hydraulics.
