BMF season 2 episode 2 release date and plot preview

Following its hugely well-received first season, BMF is back on Starz for its highly anticipated second installment.
The new season picks up the story of Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ Flenory and his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory as they continue to lay the foundations of what will become the Black Mafia Family, one of the most notorious African American crime organizations in US history.
However, after episode 1 of BMF season 2 reintroduced fans to the show’s cast of characters, the new chapter ended on an ominous cliffhanger which has left viewers anxiously waiting for episode 2 – but what do we know about the upcoming episode?
BMF season 2 episode 1 recap
Season 2 of BMF got underway on Starz in the US on January 6, 2023.
Titled Family Dinner, the episode began with a flash forward to a number of years in the future as Southwest T brought his crew together for a meal, hoping to reassure those present after his brother, Big Meech, had been arrested by the feds.
However, those promises proved short-lived as T was later arrested by Detective Bryant.
Back in the show’s present-day of the 1980s, tensions run high in the Flenory family as Big Meech prepares to move product from Las Vegas to Detroit and wants his brother’s help but T, having left the drug game and hoping to reconnect with his baby’s mother, Lawanda, is not keen on the idea.
Meech’s schemes turn violent as a new contact, K-9, kills one of the coaches during the school’s basketball game over a payment dispute.
Despite witnessing K-9’s violent side, Meech agrees to work with him, and isn’t deterred when K-9 presents him with the severed tongue of criminal queen pin, Big L, who had seemingly been on good terms with K-9 earlier in the episode.
After Meech makes one more failed attempt to win over T, the episode ends on an ominous cliffhanger as Lamar Silas, the terrifying villain from season 1 is shown waking up from the coma he was left in after the first season’s finale.
BMF season 2 episode 2 release date and plot preview
Episode 2 of BMF season 2 will be released on Starz at 8pm ET/PT on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Unlike season 1 of the hit series, new episodes of BMF will be airing on Fridays, giving fans something to look forward to at the end of each week.
The next episode is titled Family Business and will see Meech hoping to expand the growing BMF into Cleveland.
Elsewhere, Terry and his father Charles’ newly-launched car-ride business hits some early stumbling blocks.
But matters take a seismic shift when Terry learns that Meech could be in danger, he inserts himself into BMF’s business which threatens to create an even bigger rift between the brothers.
How many episodes in total?
Season 2 of BMF will consist of 10 episodes in total.
Fans of the series will be pleased to learn that this is actually two more episodes than we saw in season 1 as the show’s first installment only featured eight chapters.
After premiering on January 6, new episodes of BMF are scheduled to air weekly on Fridays – apart from on February 10 – until the tenth and final episode lands on March 17.
