On the morning of Saturday, October 14th, at approximately 6:45 a.m., law enforcement swiftly responded to an emergency call, directing them to the 1100 block of Persimmon Street. The distressing report indicated that an individual was lying in the front yard of a residence.
Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered the lifeless body of Bernard Mandrell McClendon, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased on the spot.
