A Trans Porn Star Reacts to Her Video Appearing on The Alex Jones Show
We asked Marissa Minx, the Canada-based porn star whose video showed up on Jones' show, for her thoughts on the situation. The rising industry star, nominated for Transsexual Performer of the Year at the 2018 Adult Video News Awards as well as a Transgender Erotica Award (TEA), says that until this week, she had no idea that the Infowars host might be among her fans.
But she isn’t surprised.
How long have you been working in porn? Tell us a little about your background.
I’ve been a performer in adult films for a year and a half. I’m originally from Brisbane Australia, born and raised. My favorite thing to do is travel and explore the world and different cultures. One of my passions is being an equestrian — I used to ride horses for shows and jumping and eventing until I was 16, and although I no longer do, my love for animals (and specifically horses) has never left. I also love to volunteer my time to the LGBTI community of homeless teens in Brisbane.
Did you have any idea before this week that Alex Jones from Infowars, of all people, might be watching your videos?
I honestly had no clue. Performers have lots of fans from all walks of life, and oftentimes fans are completely silent about it. I would assume even more so in his case, considering his public disapproval of trans people in the past.
Jones was kicked off Facebook for saying some pretty awful things about trans people, drag queens, lesbians — you name it, really. What do you think about his history of hateful comments paired with this latest news?
I mean, it doesn’t come as a surprise to me. Many fans are secretive about really being into trans women and it’s unfortunate that they feel not only that they need to hide their true sexuality — but then bash the very thing they desire. We all have unique tastes, but nothing justifies hate toward others. I hope he comes to his senses.
Do you think there's anything Jones should do or say about this? For example, publicly acknowledge whether he's into trans women, or donate to a group that helps trans women?
I mean, of course, yes! I don’t think it’s healthy or good at all to feel guilty about a thing that makes you happy and brings you pleasure. Most certainly he shouldn’t treat others poorly. I think especially after the hypocrisy, he owes our community a serious apology. But as far as going out of the way to tell people about his attraction, I don’t think that’s as important. Just stop being a bully and deal with your personal demons without taking others down.
What sort of upcoming appearances and new projects do you have in the works? We'd love to know more about Marissa Minx!
I have of course have been updating my official website with lots of sexy content. I recently hired Alix Lovell, who manages TransErotica's social media through her company New Verticals Consulting, to manage some channels for me on Manyvids, Pornhub, and Clips4sale. My Manyvids is already up and running so you can check my videos out there as well and purchase panties.
